About
I am a curious healer, thinker, creator, innovator, and aspiring scholar-practitioner, finding joy in the arts and expression, bridging ideas across disciplines and dreaming new paradigms of possibility.
Since I began offering Shiatsu sessions in 2010, my healing practice and therapeutic repertoire has continued to expand and deepen. I’ve trained and studied with some of the top teachers around the world within the Shiatsu tradition, yogis and meditation masters, which is another long page for another time.
I’ve had the opportunity to teach in the now nationally accredited vocational training program at Zen Shiatsu Chicago from 2013-2018, and have developed a love for the clarity and poetic nature of working with the 5 Elements of Chinese Medicine for physiological and psychological wellbeing.
Over the years, it’s been a joy to teach many self-care and 5 Elements workshops and courses to the general public, in educational spaces, and for corporate groups, locally and internationally, in-person and online. A few of my clients have included:
- Her Story Jewels, a high-end boutique jewelry design company based in India and Berlin
- Bali Spirit Festival, the music, wellness and yoga festival in Bali, Indonesia
- Guaranteed Rate, a top mortgage lending company
- The Chicago Public Library
- Climate Cycle, a non-profit climate change activism organization
- The Illinois Department of Natural Resources for a women’s retreat
- and many more…
Deepening in the path of learning, healing and medicine, I returned to academia and am currently completing my Bachelors at Northwestern University with a major in Humanities, studying the cultural traditions, histories, and legacies of Buddhism. Since then I have presented my studies at the International Vajrayana Buddhism Conference in the capital of Bhutan in 2022, the same year I also received an academic grant to begin studying Tibetan language. In 2021 I was awarded a humanities creative arts and research grant from Northwestern to study the Buddhist texts The Guide to the Bodhisattva’s Way of Life and The Fundamental Treatise of the Middle Way and to compose a body of poetry. The academic study of religion, culture, and literature has shaped how I’ve grown as a healer in immeasurable ways.
I was offered a full scholarship to study Sowa Rigpa with world renowned Tibetan physician and Buddhist lineage holding, Dr. Nida Chenagtsang, and am currently immersed in the rich, incredibly vibrant, nourishing, and fulfilling world of Traditional Tibetan Medicine that I am integrating into my work with clients, research, and academic study.
I am currently teaching a curriculum that I have designed of Yoga and Meditation for Chicago Public High School teens with the youth enrichment organization, After School Matters. It’s so fun! And challenging and rewarding, as I’m sure anyone who has worked with teenagers knows.
When I’m not in the healing clinic, studying, or teaching, you might find me enjoying a cup of fine quality Taiwanese oolong tea (my favorite!), sitting by Lake Michigan, making music or singing in the Kirtan band Devi 2000, traveling through India, Hawaii, or the Himalayas, or dancing my heart out.
