Next Chapter – University of Chicago
Yogis, and rascals, and nerds, oh my! Am I in wonderland or Oz? No. It’s one of the best universities in the entire *world*… It seems the gods have spoken and want me to settle into Chicago for another few years. A dream I couldn’t have imagined for myself not long ago.
In all seriousness and sincerity, I’ve been admitted into the University of Chicago with a full scholarship for the Master of Divinity program where I will be studying Indo-Tibetan Buddhism and what Buddhist Chaplaincy in the modern world can mean. I’ll be looking forward to continuing my Tibetan language study, fieldwork in the city and research abroad.
We had a wonderful day at Admitted Students’ Day where I met with faculty, new and old students. Admittedly, I’m already in love with the place and everyone I’ve met!
In the evening our beautiful, crazy, silly, and kind community celebrated together with Kirtan music and vegan South Indian food at Arya Bhavan with some of my favorite locals, near and dear ones Thank you all for walking with me.
I am reminded again and again the path is every moment, and not a destination. May our shared experience reflect the bliss of awakened nature.
